Guidelines
- Avoid installing Trusscore Trim in areas where other PVC trim is meant to be used. This ensures the intended functionality and appearance of both products are maintained.
- When using Trusscore Trim in combination with other PVC trims, be mindful of potential overlap. Trim lengths should be adjusted accordingly to avoid unnecessary overlaps.
- Ensure screws used to install other PVC trims do not hit screws used to fasten Trusscore products.
- Use fasteners that are long enough to penetrate a minimum of 1 inch into the supporting framing. This ensures a strong and stable attachment.
- Standard nail guns are suitable for many PVC trim and moulding products. If using pneumatic tools, regulate the air pressure so that fasteners slightly penetrate the surface without causing damage.
- All fasteners must be anchored into solid framing members. Fasten Trusscore products every 16 inches for a secure installation.
- For trim and moulding products that are 5 inches or less in width, use two fasteners per stud. For wider products, consider using three fasteners per stud to ensure a stronger hold.
- To prevent joint separation (such as scarf or miter joints), avoid using individual trim and moulding pieces longer than 12 feet.
- Some manufacturers recommend applying glue to PVC-to-PVC joints to minimize separation. Refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines for proper glue selection and application.
- Silicone can be used to cover gaps between other PVC trims and Trusscore products, providing a finished appearance and preventing moisture infiltration.
- Remember, it’s essential to always consult the installation guides provided by individual trim manufacturers when installing other PVC trims in combination with Trusscore products.
