PALMERSTON, Ontario — Wednesday, October 05, 2022 — Trusscore, the material science company that makes sustainable, improved alternatives for traditional building products, today announced it has joined the Vinyl Sustainability Council (VSC), which aims to advance sustainable performance and practices throughout the vinyl industry.
“Environmental stewardship is a core value at Trusscore,” said Trusscore CEO Dave Caputo. “The Vinyl Sustainability Council is a North American leader in environmental best-practices. Partnering with the Vinyl Sustainability Council ensures Trusscore remains tightly focused on our sustainability goals, about learning what more we can do to reduce our carbon footprint, and about supporting the VSC and its other members as they seek to do the same.”
Trusscore makes several vinyl-based products, including Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard, a more sustainable alternative to painted drywall. Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard helps divert some of the two million tons of drywall that ends up in U.S. landfills every year.
Membership in the Vinyl Sustainability Council is reserved for organizations within the vinyl value chain, that are taking a leadership role to advance sustainability. Members work together to develop and implement best practices.
“We are proud to have Trusscore join the Vinyl Sustainability Council,” said Jay Thomas, VSC executive director. “Trusscore is committed to driving innovation in sustainability efforts in commercial and residential construction. Their willingness to knowledge share and collaborate with our more than 55 other VSC members will advance sustainability initiatives that are vital to the industry.”
“Trusscore is a material science company for sustainable building materials,” said Caputo. “We all have a responsibility to be the caretakers of our world – the world that permits us to conduct business, the world where our team members live, and where we raise our families.
“Our VSC membership is about Trusscore remaining true to them all, for now, and for the future.”
Trusscore is changing how people build buildings and the environmental footprint left behind when they do. Trusscore is focusing on R&D and bringing material science to its formulations–making its products functional and beautiful. Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard is changing the way the world builds interior walls with a material that is installed three times faster and is incredibly durable, reusable, and recyclable. The company’s marketing and R&D teams are based at the Communitech Hub in Kitchener, with manufacturing plants in Palmerston, Ontario, and Calgary, Alberta. For more information, visit trusscore.com.
