Boathouses

Durable, water-resistant boathouse wall & ceiling panels

Boathouses present a lot of unique challenges when selecting a wall material — they’re wet, damp, often unheated, and face frequent bumps and scratches through boat storage and maintenance. As a result, drywall and pressure treated wood won’t last. Instead, you should opt for durable PVC-based products like Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard, Trusscore SlatWall, and DockDeck by Trusscore.

A Waterproof Boathouse Alternative to Drywall and Wood

  • Boathouses are an unconventional space where walls face constant exposure to water, are subject to (sometimes drastic!) changes in temperature, and are frequently bumped during boat storage and maintenance. As a result of these unique conditions, traditional boathouse wall paneling materials like drywall and pressure treated wood won’t last.

Drywall and wood are both porous materials, which means they’ll absorb water and provide space for mold and mildew to grow. If your boathouse is in an area with fluctuating temperatures, especially season over season, drywall will crack. And if you bump the walls with your boat or accidentally hit them during routine maintenance, you’ll see dents, damage, and other signs of wear and tear show up over time.

With PVC-based products like Trusscore, you can transform your boathouse into a bright and beautiful space that’s built to last.

On the wall, Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard panels offer complete protection against scratches, dents, and damage all while being 100% waterproof. It also seamlessly integrates with Trusscore SlatWall so you can keep all your boat maintenance in one easy-to-access space.

DockDeck by Trusscore

And on the dock, durable DockDeck by Trusscore boards can complete your project. Boards are scratch and stain resistant, are available in two slip-resistant texture patterns for added safety, have a unique open-cavity profile to keep your dock cool in high temperatures and direct sunlight, and are designed to never require maintenance or replacing.

  • Superior Durability

    Strong & Durable

Unlike traditional boathouse wall material like drywall, Trusscore wall and ceiling panels are durable, impact-resistant, and stand up to contact without showing any damage. Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard is also designed to expand and contract as temperatures change, which means the panels won’t crack. DockDeck boasts the same level of durability. While wooden decking can splinter or rot and composite decking can decay from mold and mildew growth, DockDeck won’t rot, rust, or fade in the sun. Instead, it will look and perform like new, season after season.

  • Moisture & Water Resistant

    Moisture & Water Resistant

Drywall and pressure treated wood are porous building materials, which means they’ll absorb water and give space for mold to grow. Made from PVC, all Trusscore products are 100% water resistant. With its non-porous design, Trusscore products will shed water and won’t absorb airborne moisture, which means it won’t degrade or deteriorate in moist, humid, or wet environments.

  • Water Resistant

    Easy to Clean

The smooth, non-porous surface of Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard and Trusscore SlatWall means they can be easily wiped down with soap and water, making it quick and easy to clean. And if you need to pressure wash your boat, you can do it without worry — Trusscore Wall&CeiliingBoard, Trusscore SlatWall, and DockDeck are all built to withstand repeated pressure washing and won’t be harmed by whichever liquid detergent you choose to clean with.

  • Water Resistant

    Lightweight & Easy to Install

If you’re worried that installing Trusscore at your cottage or cabin means you’ll have to bring in costly out-of-town contractors to get the job done, don’t fret. With tongue and groove interlocking panels and pre-punched screw flange, Trusscore panels are more do-it-yourself friendly than drywall. In fact, Trusscore installs four times faster than drywall and weighs 40% less, which means it can easily be handled by one person. DockDeck installation is also a breeze. With a unique Clip Strip fastening system, DockDeck keeps screws hidden and ensures that planks are spaced uniformly – while managing and controlling the natural expansion and contraction that occurs under temperature changes

There were three things [about Trusscore] that we liked. First, the product can be pressure washed. That appealed to us because that meant the boathouse would be easy to keep clean. Second, the product is made in a way that allows it to expand and contract. And the third thing was the J trim on the bottom [of the Wall&CeilingBoard installation]. By drilling holes in the J-Channel, water drains away. There’s no water build-up. That appealed a lot.
